Working Principle
 
It relies on the friction force with the conveyor belt to drive the conveyor belt to operate. When the conveyor belt bypasses the redirecting drum, its running direction will change. During the operation, the redirecting drum needs to bear the tension of the conveyor belt, the weight of the materials, and various impact forces during the operation.
 
Types
 
According to the surface shape, it can be divided into smooth-surface drums, rubber-covered drums, etc. The smooth-surface drum is suitable for occasions where the environment is dry and the tension of the conveyor belt is small. The rubber-covered drum can increase the friction force between the drum and the conveyor belt to prevent the conveyor belt from slipping, and it is suitable for harsh environments such as wet and dusty conditions and occasions where the tension of the conveyor belt is large.
